First Night Cadillac

I purchased this book to try and help me diagnose a couple of challenges I was having with my 2000 Deville. The problem turned out to be crankshaft position sensors, which the book helped me to diagnose. I also read through the book and determined that this was a repair I didn’t want to attempt, and took the car to an independent repair facility. I saved paying dealer prices for the diagnosis and the repair, and even bought my own parts and gave them to the shop. I recommend this manual as a part of your car repair library, but perhaps not the only book.

I just returned my Haynes Cadillac Manual to AutoZone. IF the Haynes folks had half a brain they’d put together books for the specific cars you own. By combining 10 years worth of 3 significantly different body styles, 4 different engines, 4 different transmissions, untold number of electrical diagram schematics, you end with a HUGE puzzle of information. After changing the water pump in my ‘02 Northstar V-8 I concluded that this manual is good for emergency toilet paper only.
